El mes pasado leí Matilda y esta semana leí Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate. Como ambos son cortitos decidí juntar mi opinión en una sola entrada en vez de dedicarle una sola a cada uno.

Matilda me encantó. Como muchos vi la película y ésta es una adaptación bastante fiel así que no hay algo nuevo, a excepción de la explicación de los poderes de Matilda. Estos se deben a que, como Matilda es tan inteligente pero no usa esa inteligencia, ésta se manifiesta de esa forma.

Sinceramente me gustó más la versión de la película donde los poderes se manifiestan a raíz del enojo de ella hacia sus padres. Si bien en la novela, Matilda le hace un par de bromas a sus padres en forma de "castigo", no creo que un niño tenga que castigar a sus padres porque estos la maltraten.



Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate estuvo bien, no me encantó. Ambas adaptaciones, la de 1971 y 2005, son fieles así que no hay nada nuevo. Es más, vi las películas tantas veces que hasta me sabía los diálogos de memoria.

Me gusta como en cierta forma cada niño, a excepción de Charlie, puede representar un pecado capital: Augustus, gula; Veruca, codicia; Mike, pereza y Violeta, orgullo. Aunque al principio no estaba muy convencida y pensaba que Dahl odia el chicle porque sí (lo llama un vicio satánico en algún punto). Lo pensé un poco más y puede ser una metáfora hacia algún tipo de adicción (tabaco, drogas, alcohol) y la negligencia de sus padres hacia su hija.

No sé si soy la única pero odio al señor Wonka. Sé que es excéntrico y algo cínico sin embargo no me había molestado hasta ahora. Quizás está en el hecho de que trata de a los niños de forma condescendiente cuando estos no hacen o dicen nada malo.
